3 Game Pack!: Candy Land / Chutes and Ladders / Original Memory Game

Overview

This Hasbro board game compilation features the three board games of the same name. Based off the selection of those games, the compilation seems to be themed towards luck and young children, as a structurally similar compilation featuring "The Game of Life," "Pay Day," and "Yahtzee" themes to chance and economics. Each game gives the player the option to have each participant either be played by a person or the computer itself; the player can even make every player a computer player and watch the action in the chosen board game.

"Candy Land" has participants try to navigate the location stated in the title to meet King Kandy. Two to four players can participate. Each space either is of a solid color, includes an icon corresponding to a location, can transport the player through shortcuts, or can hold him/her back from finishing the game. Movement is done by a deck of cards; the card drawn from the top by a player directs him/her to the next space to transport to. A solid-colored square card tells the player to move to the next space with that color; cards can have two squares, which have the player move to the second space of the same color in his/her path. Location cards have the player transport straight to the space corresponding to those cards. The first to make it to Candy Castle, where King Kandy is located, wins.

"Chutes & Ladders" involves spinning a six-space wheel to progress through the 10 x 10 space board. Once again, two to four players may play this game. Although many of the spaces numbered 1-100 have nothing happening, some are located at the ends of ladders and slides. If the player reaches the bottom of a ladder, he/she can climb it to the top; if the player reaches the top of a slide, he/she must slide down it to the bottom. Each ladder and slide represent certain scenarios, where ladders involve positive actions leading to positive consequences and slides involve negative actions leading to negative consequences. The first to reach space 100 wins the game.

"Original Memory Game" plays the same as the card-matching game of concentration. This time, one to four players can play, and the number of cards can be chosen; either 20, 42, or 72 cards can be played on. The cards begin face down; the player chooses two cards to flip over. If the cards are the same, the cards are removed from the game and the player gains a point. With multiple players, if a player finds a match, he/she can keep taking turns until that player finds a pair of different cards. The goal is to have the most points if competing with other players, or to find all matches if playing independently.
