Overview
4D Sports Boxing casts the player as a customisable boxer competing in a series of professional matches. Opponents are presented as distinct fighters within a fictional boxing circuit, each with their own identity and style. As the player wins bouts and advances through the rankings, they eventually face stronger contenders on the way toward the top champion.
The player begins by creating a boxer and assigning points to attributes such as speed, power and stamina, which influence movement, punching strength and endurance. Training between matches allows further improvement.
Matches take place in a 3D-rendered boxing ring viewed through selectable camera angles, including side perspectives, overhead views and closer viewpoints centred on either boxer. The player moves around the ring and performs punches such as jabs, hooks and uppercuts, along with defensive actions like blocking and dodging.
Opponents differ in attribute balance and fighting tendencies, with some favouring strength, others speed, and some relying on aggressive offence or counter-punching. Bouts may run across several rounds and can conclude by knockout, technical knockout, judges’ decision, draw or disqualification.
